Welcome.  This e-portfolio represents the coursework, growth, development, and reflections I have experienced while completing my MA in Instructional Design and Technology (IDT) through the School of Education at Virginia Tech.  The navigation buttons above will point you toward evidence of my experiences with and reflections on the 5 AECT domains (design, development, utilization, management, and evaluation) and the 4 ITMA domains (research, resources, resume, and reflections).  Many of the pieces of evidence are available in PDF format; in order to be able to view these documents, you can download Adobe Reader XI for free here.

About me.  A librarian by trade, I joined Virginia Tech's University Libraries in 2010 as the College Librarian for Science, Life Sciences, and Engineering.  In the summer of 2011, I was appointed the Libraries' Information Literacy Coordinator.  In this role, a real passion for teaching and learning began to suffuse every part of my professional life.  You can view my professional website in order to get a better sense of my work as a librarian. I enrolled in the MA in IDT program in Fall 2011 while working full time as a librarian, and have been able to apply theories, pedagogies, and instructional strategies in the classes in my work as a teaching librarian. The program has given me much direction and joy in my professional life as I work toward continued appointment at Virginia Tech's University Libraries, and I look forward to continuing to apply what I have learned after my graduation from the IDT program in May 2014.
